ہزارہ واقعہ کے پیچھے دہشت گرد بچ نہیں سکتے، نثار

پاکستان کے وزیرِ داخلہ چوہدری نثار علی خان نے کہا ہے ہزارہ واقعہ کے پیچھے دہشت گرد بچ نہیں سکتے اور واقعہ کے ذمہ داروں کو کٹرے میں لایا جائے گا۔

کوئٹہ میں مستونگ بم دھماکے میں ہلاک ہونے والے زائرین کے لواحقین، ہزارہ ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی اور شیعہ تنظیموں کے دھرنے سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انھوں نے یقین دلایا حکومت دہشت گردوں کا پیچھا کرے گی اور ہزارہ برادی کے خون کا بدلہ لیا جائے گا۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ہزارہ برادری کے مطالبات کو پورا کیا جائے گا اور بلوچستان میں امن قائم کرنے کے لیےحکومت تمام اقدامات اٹھائےگی۔

چوہدری نثار کے مطابق’ میں آپ کو اس بات کا یقین دلاتا ہوں کہ صوبائی اور وفاقی حکومت مل کر اس پر پیش رفت کرے گی‘۔

انھوں نے کہا کہ دہشت گردوں کوحالات خراب کرنےکی اجازت نہیں دی جائےگی اور پوری قوم ہزارہ برادری کے ساتھ غم میں شریک ہے‘۔

گزشتہ منگل کو ایران سے آنے والے زائرین کی بس پر مستونگ کے علاقے میں بم حملے میں 25 سے زائد افراد ہلاک اور متعدد زخمی ہوئے تھے

وفاقی وزیر کی یقین دہانی کے بعد کوئٹہ میں مستونگ بم دھماکے میں ہلاک ہونے والے زائرین کے لواحقین، ہزارہ ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی اور شیعہ تنظیموں نے دو روزہ دھرنے کے خاتمے اور لاشوں کی تدفین کا اعلان کیا۔

دھرنے کے خاتمے کا اعلان جمعرات کی شب ہزارہ ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی کے صدر عبدالخالق ہزارہ اور مجلس وحد ت المسلین کے رہنماؤں نے کیا۔

ہزارہ ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی کے صدر عبدالخالق ہزارہ نے اعلان کیا کہ جمعہ کو صبح دس بجے لاشوں کی تدفین کی جائے گی۔

اس سے پہلے وفاقی وزیرِداخلہ چوہدری نثار علی خان، وزیراعلیٰ بلوچستان ڈاکٹر مالک بلوچ، وفاقی وزیرِ اطلاعات پرویز رشید اور دیگر وفاقی اور صوبائی حکام دھرنے کے شرکاء سے مذاکرات کے لیے کوئٹہ کے علمدار روڈ پہنچے۔

چوہدری نثار نے قندہاری امام با رگاہ میں مجلس وحد ت المسلمین، ہزارہ ڈیموکریٹک پارٹی اور دیگر شیعہ تنظیموں کے رہنماؤں سے مذاکرات کیے۔

خیال رہے کہ گزشتہ منگل کو ایران سے آنے والے زائرین کی بس پر مستونگ کے علاقے میں بم حملے میں 25 سے زائد افراد ہلاک اور متعدد زخمی ہوئے تھے۔ ہلاک اور زخمی افراد کا تعلق ہزار ہ قبیلے سے تھا۔

اس سے قبل یکم جنوری کو کوئٹہ شہر کے مغربی بائی پاس پر اختر آباد کے علاقے میں ایسی ہی ایک بس پر خودکش حملہ ہوا تھا جس میں حملہ آور سمیت دو افراد ہلاک اور پولیس اہل کاروں سمیت متعدد زخمی ہوگئے تھے۔

شیعہ مسلک سے تعلق رکھنے والی تنظیموں نے لاشوں کی تدفین سے انکار کرتے ہوئے ان کے ہمراہ دھرنے کا اعلان کیا تھا۔

دھرنے کے شرکاء نے اس واقعے میں ملوث ملزمان کی گرفتاری، کوئٹہ اور مستونگ میں ٹارگیٹڈ آپریشن کے علاوہ پاکستان کے دیگر علاقوں میں فرقہ وارانہ شدت پسندی کی کارروائیوں میں ملوث عناصر اور تنظیموں کے خلاف کارروائی کا بھی مطالبہ کیا۔

QUETTA: The grieved Shia Hazara community decided to end the two-day long sit-in against the deadly Taliban bombing in Mastung following strong assurance given by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan led government delegation on Thursday night.

A government delegation comprising Chaudhry Nisar and Information Minister Pervez Rashid had reached Quetta upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s directives.

In order to pursue the protesters to end their sit-in, the premier had directed the federal ministers to hold negotiations with the Hazara community.

The federal minister assured that a targeted operation would be conducted against the perpetrators of Mastung killings.

Despite dry-chilly weather, protesters, including women and children, have been holding sit-ins across the country including Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and Hyderabad to voice anguish at the deadly suicide attack on a bus carrying Shia pilgrims in Mastung that killed 30 people.

The banned militant organisation Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attack, which it described as a suicide bombing, and warned of more such attacks.

Last year, thousands of mourners staged a three-day sit-in from Jan 10 to 13 in the aftermath of twin-bombings that had left over 100 people dead.

“We will bring the terrorists to book,” Chaudhary Nisar told a grief-stricken gathering of Shia Hazaras. He assured that terrorists would not be allowed to take law into their hands and that all out efforts would be made to restore the order in the province.

“I stand by the Hazara community in this hour of grief and trial,” the interior minister stated.

After almost 38 hours, the federal government succeeded in cajoling the angry protesters to end their sit-in.

The protesters had brought 27 dead bodies of Mastung blast at Alamdar road to mourn their killing and press the authorities to launch a crack down against the perpetrators of the incident.

“We announce to end the sit-in,” Abdul Khaliq Hazara, the chairman of Hazara Democratic Party told the gathering.

Immediately after the announcement, relatives of the victims refused to bury the dead calling the assurances given by the government as hollow. Some of the enraged relatives came close to the stage and chanted full-throated slogans against the government.

However, they also agreed to end the protest following reassurances from community elders and Shia leaders.

Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Federal Information Minister Pervez Rashid and others also accompanied the federal minister. They held thorough negotiations with the members of Hazara community in order to convince them to end the protest.

After successful negotiations, Abdul Khaliq Hazara said that the dead bodies would be buried at 10am on Friday morning.

Following the decision taken in Quetta, Shia protesters across the country also ended their demonstrations.

Earlier, assailing the federal government for being apathetic towards the protesters, the Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) had called for a countrywide strike on Friday, which has been taken back now.

Police fired teargas shells and arrested around eight people to disperse the protesters staging one of the several sit-ins in Karachi.

Leaders belonging to the Shia community condemned the incident that took place at Tower calling it a “cruel act by the police”.

Sit-ins staged on different patches of the metropolis' major artery Shahrah-e-Faisal had left residents of localities beyond the city's airport almost stranded throughout the day.

Shahrah-e-Pakistan that connects Karachi with other parts of the province through Super Highway was another affected area, compelling people from parts of the Federal B Area and Abul Hassan Ispahani Road to remain indoors, with all businesses almost closed.

Due to the closure of main roads, traffic was suspended and flight schedules were also affected.

Ban ‘strongly condemns’ spate of deadly terrorist attacks in Pakistan

22 January 2014 – Reiterating deep concern over continued terrorist attacks and sectarian violence in Pakistan, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today strongly condemned a spate of deadly violence in the country, including the bombing of a market earlier this week in Rawalpindi, and a series of attacks against polio workers.

In a statement issued by his spokesman New York, Mr. Ban deplored the bombing at a market in Rawalpindi on 20 January that left at least 13 dead, as well as yesterday’s attack in Baluchistan, Pakistan, on a bus carrying Shia pilgrims returning from Iran, which reportedly killed more than 20 people and injured many more, including women and children.

“The Secretary-General is also deeply concerned about the recent attacks on polio workers, which have resulted in several deaths,” the statement said, adding that: “These unacceptable attacks are hampering efforts to eradicate the disease in Pakistan, one of the last three countries where polio remains endemic.” The number of polio cases in Pakistan increased by 57 per cent last year, from 58 cases in 2012 to 91 in 2013.

“The Secretary-General expresses his heartfelt condolences to the Government and the people of Pakistan. He stresses the United Nations’ commitment to supporting the Government in its efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism,” says the statement.

QUETTA: The protests against the killing of Shia pilgrims in a bombing in Balochistan's Mastung district were observed across the nation on Thursday including Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, and Hyderabad, DawnNews reported.

The Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) staged protests in-front of the Governor House in Lahore and in Faizabad area of Islamabad.

Moreover, members of civil society staged a vigil outside the Press Club in the federal capital city earlier on Wednesday night.

Shia organisations also arranged protests at several locations of Karachi whereas the flow of traffic was blocked in Ancholi, Malir, Shah Faisal, Qayyumabad, Hino Chowk Flyover and Numaish Chowrangi areas.

Karachi’s chairman of the Private Schools Management Association, Sharaf uz Zaman, said that schools would remain closed today in those areas where roads were blocked.

Alamdar road protests

Despite freezing temperatures, thousands of members of the Hazara Shia community staged an ongoing sit-in in Quetta to protest against the killing of Shia pilgrims in a bombing in Balochistan's Mastung district.

The demonstrators gathered Wednesday morning at Alamdar road, vowing to continue their protests until authorities arrested the perpetrators of the attack.

A large number of women and children were also part of the demonstration.

The mourners have brought 26 dead bodies along with them and kept them on the road to press the authorities to launch a crackdown against the perpetrators of attack on Shia pilgrims in Balochistan's Mastung district.

“We will continue our protest until perpetrators of the blast are brought to book,” said Syed Ahmed Raza, a member of the Balochistan Assembly and leader of the Hazara Community.

He lamented that the killing of members of the Hazara community had become the ‘order of the day’ and that the Balochistan government had completely failed to protect the Shia pilgrims coming from Iran to Pakistan.

Officials said Wednesday that three more injured succumbed to their wounds from Tuesday’s blast on the bus bringing Shia pilgrims from Iran to Quetta. The deaths have raised the toll from 26 to 29.

An official at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), requesting not to be named, said 26 bodies had been identified while one corpse was yet to be identified. He said 35 injured were under treatment at the CMH in Quetta. “The condition of seven injured is serious,” he said.

It was the second attack on Shia pilgrims in this part of Balochistan over the past three weeks; the first attack took place near Quetta on the eve of New Year.

The minority community's protest had prompted the former Pakistan Peoples’ Party-led government to remove Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and impose governor's rule in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch visited Alamdar Road on Wednesday and expressed his concern over the Mastung incident. He held a long meeting with members of the community to end their protest.

“We are all victims of terrorism and I stand by you in this hour of grief,” Baloch told the grief-stricken mourners.

Speaking to reporters, the chief minister pointed towards the presence of foreign militants in Balochistan. “The killing of Uzbek militants in Mastung shows that foreign militants have reached Balochistan,” he said.

Baloch claimed that his government was determined to wipe out terrorism despite all odds. Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Jan Muhammad Jamali, provincial ministers Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and others accompanied the chief minister.

ملک بھر میں شیعہ برادری سراپا احتجاج

بلوچستان کے ضلع مستونگ میں ہونے والے دھماکے میں ہلاک ہونے والے شیعہ زائرین کے لواحقین کا کوئٹہ میں علمدار روڈ پر، مرنے والوں کی لاشوں کے ساتھ دھرنا دوسرے دن بھی جاری ہے۔

مقامی میڈیا کے مطابق مستونگ دھماکے میں ہلاک ہونے والوں کے لواحقین مرنے والوں کی لاشوں کے ساتھ سخت سردی میں کھلے آسمان کے نیچے بیٹھے ہیں۔

دھرنے میں شریک افراد کا کہنا ہے کہ جب تک ان کے مطالبات تسلیم نہیں کیے جاتے دھرنا جاری رہے گا۔

مستونگ واقعے کے خلاف ملک کے دیگر شہروں کی طرح وفاقی دارالحکومت اسلام آباد سے ملحق شہر راولپنڈی میں فیض آباد کے مقام پر احتجاجی دھرنا جاری ہے۔

دھرنوں کی وجہ سے عام زندگی متاثر

"ان دھرنوں کے باعث لوگوں کی ایک بڑی تعداد ملازمتوں اور طالب علم تعلیمی اداروں تک نہیں پہنچ سکے ہیں۔ شاہراہ فیصل اور ملیر میں دھرنے کے باعث ایئرپورٹ جانے والی سڑک پر ٹریفک معطل ہے جس کے باعث کئی پروازوں کا شیڈول بھی متاثر ہو رہا ہے۔ لانڈھی جیل اور سینٹرل جیل سے بھی قیدیوں کو عدالتوں میں نہیں لایا گیا، جس وجہ سے سٹی کورٹس اور انسداد دہشت گردی کی عدالتوں میں اکثر مقدمات کی سماعت ملتوی ہوگئی ہے۔"

کراچی سے نامہ نگار ریاض سہیل کے مطابق مجلس وحدت المسلمین کی اپیل پر سندھ میں کراچی، حیدرآباد، خیرپور، لاڑکانہ اور سکھر میں دھرنے جاری ہیں۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ صرف کراچی شہر میں سات مقامات پر یہ دھرنے دیے جا رہے ہیں جن میں نیشنل ہائی وے پر ملیر کے مقام پر، شاہراہ فیصل پر ناتھا خان ، یونیورسٹی روڈ اور ایم اے جناح روڈ شامل ہیں۔

دھرنوں کے باعث شہر میں ٹریفک کا نظام درہم برہم ہوگیا ہے اور کراچی ٹرانسپورٹ اتحاد نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ جن مقامات پر دھرنے جاری ہیں، وہاں گاڑیاں نہیں چلائی جائیں گی۔

ادھر صوبہ خیبر پختونخواہ کے دارالحکومت پشاور میں امامیہ سٹوڈنٹ آرگنائیزیشن نے دوپہر دو بجے کے بعد جی ٹی روڈ پر دھرنا دینے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

پاکستان کے صوبہ پنجاب کے دارالحکومت لاہور میں مال روڈ پر مظاہرین کی بڑی تعداد نے دھرنا دے رکھا ہے۔

اس سے پہلے بلوچستان کے وزیراعلیٰ ڈاکٹر عبدالمالک بلوچ نے بدھ کو علمدار روڈ کا دورہ کیا اور مستونگ میں پیش آنے والے واقعے پر اپنے تحفظات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے ہزارہ برادری کے دھرنے میں شامل اراکین سے دھرنا ختم کرنے کو کہا۔

انھوں نے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے صوبے میں غیر ملکی عسکریت پسندوں کی موجودگی کا اشارہ بھی دیا۔

انھوں نے کہا ’مستونگ میں ازبک عسکریت پسند کا مارا جانا اس بات کی طرف اشارہ ہے کہ غیر ملکی شدت پسند بلوچستان پہنچ چکے ہیں‘۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ ان کی حکومت دہشت گردی کو ختم کرنے کے لیے پر عزم ہے۔

خیال رہے کہ پاکستان کے صوبہ بلوچستان کے ضلع مستونگ میں منگل کو شیعہ زائرین کی بس کے قریب دھماکے میں کم از کم 23 افراد ہلاک اور 30 زخمی ہوگئے تھے۔

مستونگ کے ڈی پی او محمد عابد نے بی بی سی کو بتایا کہ بم ڈسپول سکواڈ نے اس حملے میں 100 کلو بارودی مواد استعمال کیے جانے کی تصدیق کی تھی۔

یہ رواں ماہ بلوچستان میں ایران سے آنے والے زائرین کی بس پر حملے کا دوسرا واقعہ ہے۔

یہ رواں ماہ بلوچستان میں ایران سے آنے والے زائرین کی بس پر حملے کا دوسرا واقعہ ہے

پاکستان کی مذہبی جماعت وحدت المسلمین کے رہنما نے ا علان کیا ہے کہ جب تک وفاقی حکومت ان سے مذاکرات نہیں کرتی اور ان کے مطالبات تسلیم نہیں ہوتے وہ لاشوں سمیت دھرنا جاری رکھیں گے۔

بلوچستان کے ضلع مستونگ میں دھماکے میں ہلاک ہونے والے شیعہ زائرین کے لواحقین کوئٹہ میں علمدار روڈ پر مرنے والوں کی لاشوں کے ساتھ دھرنا دے رہے ہیں۔

دوسری جانب دارالحکومت اسلام آباد سمیت ملک کے مختلف شہروں میں لوگوں نے مستونگ حملے میں ہلاکتوں کے خلاف دھرنے دے رکھے ہیں۔

اسلام آباد میں لوگوں نے اسلام آباد اور راولپنڈی کے درمیان اہم شاہراہ اسلام آباد ہائی وے اور اسلام اباد کے سیکٹر ایف سکس میں پر دھرنا دیا ہوا ہے۔

اسی طرح لاہور میں مال روڈ پر مظاہرین کی بڑی تعداد نے دھرنا دے رکھا ہے۔

صوبہ سندھ کے شہر کراچی میں نمائش چورنگی، ملیر پندرہ نیشنل ہائی وے، فائیو اسٹار چورنگی نارتھ ناظم آباد میں دھرنے دیے جارہے ہیں۔

نمائش چورنگی پر دھرنے کی قیادت علامہ علی انور جعفری اور علامہ مبشر حسن کر رہے ہیں۔

احتجاجی دھرنے سے خطاب میں رہنماؤں کا کہنا تھا کہ ملک بھر میں جاری دہشت گردی اس بات کی جانب اشارہ ہے کہ ملک میں نواز شریف کی نہیں بلکہ طالبان کی حکومت ہے۔

مجلس وحدت المسلمین کے رہنما اور بلوچستان اسمبلی کے رکن سید محمد رضا نے بدھ کو پریس کانفرنس کے دوران کہا کہ جب تک وفاق کا کوئی نمائندہ ہم سے مذاکرات نہیں کرتا اور ہمارے مطالبات نہیں مانے جاتے تب تک ہم لاشوں کی تدفین نہیں کریں گے۔

انھوں نے کہا کہ ’جب تک وفاقی حکومت ہمارے ساتھ مذاکرات نہیں کرتی اور لولی پاپ دینے کے بجائے حقیقی معنوں ہمارے مطالبات نہیں مانتی، ہم لاشوں کی تدفین نہیں کریں گے۔‘

اس سے پہلے پاکستان کے صوبہ بلوچستان کے ضلع مستونگ میں منگل کو شیعہ زائرین کی بس کے قریب دھماکے میں کم از کم 23 افراد ہلاک اور 30 زخمی ہوگئے تھے۔

Attacks on Shiites intensify in Pakistan

Militant Islamists have once again attacked minority Shiites in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province.

Experts say the sectarian war between Sunnis and Shiites in Pakistan is getting uglier by the day.

A passenger bus was carrying 51 Shiite pilgrims from Iran to Pakistan's western Balochistan province when it was hit by a bomb on Tuesday, January 21. Authorities confirmed 22 deaths in the attack, which took place in the Mastung district near the Pakistani-Iranian Taftan border. Two people were killed in a previous attack in early January when a bomb targeted a bus carrying Shiite pilgrims near Quetta, the capital city of the Balochistan province.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the Tuesday bombing, but in the past militant groups belonging to the majority Sunni sect have carried out similar attacks.

Lately, Pakistan's militant Sunni extremists with links to al Qaeda have intensified their attacks on minority Shiites, whom they do not recognize as Muslims.

Violence between the two secular groups shows no sign of diminishing

In August, 2013, the al Qaeda-linked Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group massacred at least 50 Shiites in a string of terrorist attacks. The attacks were perpetrated on the mosque of ethnic Hazara Shiites in Quetta. 2012 was also a deadly year for Pakistan's Shiites. Human rights groups say that more than 300 of them were killed then.

A 'systematic' process of killing

Pakistani experts say that although the lives of Shiite Muslims are under threat all over Pakistan, those living in Balochistan and the northwestern Gilgit-Baltistan region face a systematic onslaught by the Taliban and other militant groups. Some experts have gone so far as to call it a "genocide."
