QUETTA: Balochistan Shia Conference Vice President Syed Mussarat Husain has resigned from his party in a protest against a sectarian killing incident at the Arbab Karam Khan Road, on Wednesday.
Husain announced his resignation while addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Thursday. He said that the law and order situation in Quetta was deteriorating.
He alleged that they had warned the security forces about the sensitive areas, especially Sariab Road, Arbab Karam Khan Road and Kirani Road, but they did not listen. On 3rd Muharram a police Sub-Inspector Wajid Ali Bangash was killed on Kirani Road and on 8th Muharram three people, including a child, were killed on the Arbab Karam Khan Road. Husain said police personnel were deployed on the road but even then the attackers managed to kill the people and flee the scene. He said that terminating the services of SHO Sariab would not solve the problem of sectarian killings. He demanded that those police personnel should be arrested who were on duty and cases be registered against them. staff report
